Basic Axolotl Care/Requirements/etc

 

Axolotls should to be kept in a tank, tub, or large bin with a water temperature of 65 degrees, anything over 75 can be fatal. 

 

The tank should be set up with ZERO gravel, rocks or any small objects that they can swallow and hurt themselves, it is not recommended to put sand in their tank until they are around 5 inches give or take, sand can impact their stomach if swallowed, Axolotls use a sucking motion to help the eat and sand can easily be eaten with their food. 

 

They should be kept in a 20 gallon tank minimum per Axolotl around a 40+ gallon tank for 2 axolotls (20 gallons per axolotl) baby or small axolotls can be kept in small tubs until bigger but require more attention. 

 

Make sure your tank doesn't have any sharp objects in it that can cut or harm your axolotl, axolotls have very soft skin that is easily damaged. And should have atheist one hide per axolotl in the tank. They can have fake plants in their tank but should be silk because some plants can be sharp and harm the axolotls. 

 

Adult axolotls should eat every other day and baby or juvenile axolotls should eat everyday.
